Adore Home magazine recently asked me to create a festive holiday project for their annual printed issue and so I designed these mini toucan printables!  They make cute place-setting cards for tropical-themed summer luncheons, gift tags or even tree decorations for the festive season!

Argh!! I know, I know, it's been a whole month since my last update! Just checking in to say I'm not dead. In fact, I'm incredibly excited because I've been secretly working on a brand new project. Christmas is just around the corner. Have you left absolutely everything to the last minute like my silly self?

With my latest post for Oh Happy Day I decided to take a somewhat untraditional approach to holiday gift wrap. I was actually really inspired by some aqua and cream sari rope which I picked up recently from the Rabbit & the Duck stall at The Big Design Market. It's funny where inspiration strikes...

We're hosting the family Christmas this year at our place, for the first time ever! Admittedly, I was a little nervous at first because we have some big shoes to fill... then I remembered that I shouldn't even attempt to emulate past Christmas gatherings. Instead, I should create the event in my own way. And so it shall be a very 'Amy' Christmas. :)

This project has inspired the colour scheme for the day. I'm really digging the touches of neon and the quirkiness. I hope you like it too :)

So, it's occurred to me that I've never actually designed a Halloween freebie before. I guess it's because we rarely celebrate this holiday down here in Australia... When we moved from our inner-city apartment to our house in the 'burbs, a couple of years ago, we expected a sudden surge in trick-or-treaters knocking at our door but there have been absolutely ZILCH the entire time we've lived here! :(

Having said that, I think it's a pretty awesome holiday so this year I've designed (kinda last minute, I know) these candy bag toppers. I've abandoned the traditional orange and black with this project. Yep, it's pink and red again (I know, I know. Promise to give up on this colour scheme soon. I think). Warning: Lots of Happy Lab candy was devoured in the making of this project! :)

Recently, (somewhere in between wolfishly tearing through self-improvement books and multiple failed attempts to curb a sugar addiction), I designed these mini lip-shaped notecards. The seemingly ubiquitous 'lips' motif, sported in many a fashion collection these days, finally snagged me and, as trends have a tendency to do, refused to let go. And so I was hopelessly compelled to design these little smoochies. Well, they are pretty freaking cute, aren't they? 

It's as easy as pie to make: Download, Print, Cut. Fold. Write a fabulous message inside. 

Oh, and I've also included gift tag versions as a bonus. Mwah!

So, I disappeared a bit last week. Sorry about that folks! My new Pomodoro timer app still works a treat but at some point, for whatever the reason, the wheels fell off my whole 'getting organised' mission. If you've been following Eat Drink Chic recently you'll probably have noticed that gift tags are a bit of an obsession of mine at the moment. I think it's because they're like cute little works of art. Simple in concept, practical and also an opportunity to explore all kinds of 'graphicky' goodness! 

Inspired partly by the colourwheel and partly by these awesome Pie Chart Stickies from Present and Correct, I set out to design gift tags in a similar vein. Above is what I came up with!

I recently used one of these tags to embellish a friend's birthday gift packaging. I also cut out little semi circles from some gold stickers to decorate the wrap. And just in case you're curious as to what was inside the package- it was a copy of The Hand Book and a set of nail art brushes which I picked up from Lulu.

Tackling some nail art has been on the bucket list for awhile, so I actually bought a copy of both the book and brushes for myself and for my friend! Of course, if I'm feeling lazy (a strong possibility), I might pop round to Trophy Wife Nail Art and just get them done for me. So many inspiring designs...

The planter collection is growing...

I'm at a loss for words today.

In my flu-ridden downtime, over the last couple of weeks, there was an abundance of words. And so I wrote- A lot. And now I'm fresh out.

I hope to share those words with you someday... but I'm not quite ready yet. Best to stick with the pretty things...

I designed these gift tags quite awhile ago. Not sure why I've taken so long to share them with you! If you like them, you can download them inside this post.

Speaking of pretty things, I have an obsession with quirky and unique planters at the moment. Would love to cover the top of our bar with a huge cluster of them! I found the one shown above at Mr. Kitly. Such a lovely store. I never leave empty-handed.

Also, I recently chopped up an old Gorman brochure for the gorgeous patterns. What do you think- frame them? Make gift tags... or envelope liners?

I have to say, I am actually enjoying Autumn and the return of the cooler weather. It's nice to watch the daily, yellow foliage showers in our backyard. Although, perhaps not quite as nice to have to sweep them up...

Thanks to those who sent well wishes! I'm feeling a lot better now. No more 'fuzzyhead' and I'm feeling all inspired again! :)

These cutie-patootie cards I created may be a tad last minute for Valentine's Day. But hey, romantic gestures don't need to be reserved merely for the holidays.  

All you need is a printer, good quality white card stock, patterned masking tape and a mini pink (or red) colour pencil.
